How to live in Buenos Aires as an Argentinean and not just like a tourist. The TAXI in Buenos Aires - TAKE ONLY REGULAR TAXIS Updated: 20 July 2011 On 9 January, 2011 - the rate of taxis in the City of Buenos Aires rose by 26% because of the inflation. Multiplied queues of cars were seen trying to get to adapt their clocks to the new rate. The minimum fare was 5.80 pesos and the tab is 58 cents….and now…it increased again to 6.90 pesos (+ 20%) so…about 50% price increase in a little bit more than 1 year!!!...The “official” inflation rate is 8%!!!...Now is much more convenient to take the Updated: 20 July 2011 On 10 October 2012 - The Txi rate continues to grow. Now the Start point is 7.80 pesos during the day and 8.90 pesos during the night. Taking a Taxi is a fast way (but now much less cheap than before) to move in through the city. Anyway of course you also should consider the traffic. Taxi is good if you can't wait a little bit or if you go where the subte (subway) cannot go. Taking the taxi is easy. Hundreds taxis drive on the streets every day so...just get out and wait for 1 minute. Easier in the main streets of course. Take ONLY the regular taxis. Check the taximeter is on and bring with you the right money or if you only have 100 pesos ask the taxi drivers if they have some change. From Ezeiza Airport to the Center it costs about 200 pesos and it takes about 40 minutes... Cheaper from the City to the Airport if you take a normal taxi on the street cause there is much more competition in the city and you'll find some regular taxis anywhere.(about 170 pesos)
